And what happens when you flinch at 40 yds and hit the black? Does it lose its capacity to maintain its compression.

Well I really doubt that most people shoot poorly enough to beat up that outer surface that much but they do sell the parts.
I really don't consider $200. alot for a target that can last 4 X'stronger than a $80. target

The farther you go the harder it is, and no one can ever avoid having an occassional flyer. I've watched the people shooting indoor lanes getting ready for the hunting season at 20 yds with deer paper targets. YIKES. If that brown target areas is only as big as a pie plate, the 'average' shooter will definately be hitting that plastic tub sometime.

I suppose your right about the fliers but this target IMO isn't for a weekend warrior either. There is a shop that has this target on the range and they have had the same one for 4 years and it's still there ....so that has to account for something. I am looking to get one to evaluate it so I will let you know in the future
