I just can't take it. I hate bowshops more than ever. I'm wondering if they operate on the idea that 90% of their customers know nothing about anything.
I'll start with my experience at a somewhat local shop in my area...about 40 minutes from my house if you can call that an area.
MrX bought a Monster 6 so we went to pick it up. Now, the week before, the guy spent about an hour or so showing us bows, setting up bows, and really impressed me as caring about his trade, and genuinely wanting to help.
MrX told him that he had all the accessories already, and what kind of set up could he expect if he brought them all in. The guy says no problem, we will set the entire bow up for you, make sure it is tune, and send you out fully set up.
So....we show up on Sat. and the guy who helped us the week before was busy...talking...so we had to deal with his partner, who is a rude sob...not caring, not helpful kind of guy.
His first comment about the Quad HD right out of the box was...your going to have to tune this rest...they are impossible to get right without fletching contact...then goes one step further!
He says," you will have contact because the rest will bounce up after it goes down! I guess he doesn't understand what the LD stands for. A - HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!
He then goes on about the Ripcord Code Red, and how it doesn't bounce back....and oh yeah, tells me that the Quad is really for slow bows. A -HOLE!!!!!!!!
This guy is a POS and I'm trying to keep quiet, but of course I say to MrX...this guy is a real A - HOLE!!! I think he might have heard me.
I pretty much said let's get out of here, and go back to my house so we can set this bow up, which is what we did.
Man, the bow was out of spec, the peep wasn't tied in...I just settled down, and showed MrX how it was done, and all the things that they should have done.
What is the point with these places?!! They all suk!! I will never have a bowshop touch one of my bows ever again. I have my own shop in the basement, and all I need is a bow in a box.
Sorry, but I had to let that all out. Especially after talking to BT, and hearing about his experience this week with a shop near him.
