Got one at daylight this past friday in Missouri. Me and 5 buddies went up there to an Archery only area. 5 out of the 6 of us shot and 3 of us got big 8 points.
This buck weighed 290lbs on foot. Had to drag him 500 yards to the boat, completely exhausted but well worth it lol.
He came in smelling a doe that had came thru about 15 minutes earlier, he appeared so quickly that i didnt have time to range him. I guessed him to be 35 yards and he was actually 28 yards. Hit him in the spine and then followed that up with a heart shot. Needless to say we had a great hunt, nailed the rut just right. Bucks were chasing. We stayed 5 days and between the 6 of us we seen 22 shooter bucks. I actually seen 2 more shooters within an hour of killing this one from my stand
