Wed, the 1st of oct I killed a 5 point at 8:45 am. This site has convinced me not only that fixed replaceable heads is better for my set up than expandables but also to drop a blade and go to a 3 blade head.
I liked the reviews I read here on the nightmare but just could not spend the extra dollars on it over the muzzy mx3. Plus I've been a muzzy user for over 20 years. The mx3's have shot extremely well for me this year, not right with my field points, but very close, I simply remarked a piece of sight tape on my hha sight and quickly had marks for up to 70 yards, wouldn't you know it I busted a nock and ruined a arrow at 60 yards with the muzzys.
I'm shooting a 02 Hoyt havoc tech at 70lbs with a 27.5 inch draw that chronos right at 280 with cx 300's at 25.5 inches and blazer vanes. I'm probably just under 350 grain total weight but the bow is extremely quiet and shoots better than I can shoot it.
The buck walked up a trail 22 yards in front of my stand and fed for several minutes before giving me a broad side shot. I confess I did not kill a buck last season with my bow and was a little more excited than usual and did not mentally pick a spot on the deer. My shot was a little higher and further back than I wanted but I still managed to get both lungs. He died after a bout a 60 yard run in a single direction dash, the blood trail was plenty good, I've seen heavier trails but I seen lots less too.
A good start to a good bow season I hope.

I like the Muzzy blades and the MX3 shot best in testing... of any in the Muzzy line up. Dont forget that camera when you go out!.....as the years go by, pictures will keep the memories alive Congratulations on a successful outing

Yep Joey...great start to bow season! Congrats! The first one of the season is always special in it's own way and if you're like me, "it just fuels the fire that burns in archery hunters"! As others have said, just remember to take your camera. Not only so you can share the "thrill" of your hunt with the rest of us in the pictures, but so you will have the memories documented in your own album. I don't know how long you have been bow hunting, but and deer with a bow is special...and to get a 5 point adds a little more. I have killed 6 turkeys with a bow over the past 52 years, many deer (bucks and does) and a lot of "varmints". I only wish digital cameras cameras had been available to me then. I missed getting a lot on film and really regret it. Some shots were great and others not so great.....but all I have of most of them are memories in my own mind. So document all you can...and one day you will REALLY be glad you did. BTW...the new NAP Nightmare is AWESOME...and IMO, money well spent!

[glow=red,2,300]A big welcome to the site and Congrats, 308![/glow] That comes from a fellow Florida hunter. Digital cameras are indeed priceless. I have a little Casio Exilim that I always keep in my pack...takes up virtually no room, but still get great 6 mg pics from it.

I do need to move into the digital camera era, I too enjoy the pics here on the board. They give others the same opportunity to see the images we all have stored in our minds.
I have been bowhunting since 1981
Red, what would a camera like you described set me back? 308

Hey Joey.
Glad to see your getting a little venison. Did you join a club this year or are you hunting the refuge?
