Last one of 2007....good thing is, no closed season on hogs in Florida. This was another Silver Flame kill...took 3 with Flames this year and one with a Spitfire. I had good results on all. I should have gone back to get my bow before my bud snapped this pic, but it was a long drag out and I didn't want to make him wait. Anyway: [glow=red,2,300] Mathews Switchback at 67 lbs. Maxima Hunter Silver Flame 100 gr. [/glow]

Here's a pic of my last minute buck...season ended yesterday and I took him with about 10 minutes of light left. Not a bow kill, but fun nonetheless. BTW: I am a proponent of letting small ones walk, but this particular area is being overrun by housing development. Might be my last year to hunt here, so no sense in passing them up.

Whats the guage of that gun there? I made this gun up for the kids, but ended up using it myself here in Florida. It's an H & R Handi-Rifle in 7.62 X 39. Shooting a 123 gr. pointed soft point. Added a brake to make sure the kids didn't develope a flinch...really light recoil, nice accuracy and lays a smack down on the deer. Single shot, nothing for the kids to get confused about at the moment of truth. Plus, it reinforces what I constantly tell them: the only shot that counts is the first one. I don't want any lead slingers in the house.

No worries, Spiker....as soon as the woods settles down from gun season, I'll have the bow back out there in search of porkers. Hopefully I'll have more pics to post.
