Stalking Fish From Shore

Last summer my buddies and I couldn't find enough time to get out on the boat, so we just stalked the shores. It proved very rewarding, especially with short 1 or 2 hour hunts. I have switched to shooting a recurve strictly for fish and I have gone back to an old style "can" reel instead of the AMS. We just have so many weeds that clog the AMS and I can strip them off when reeling in by hand. I bought a PSE Kingfisher all set up for around $130 new. It works like a charm.

Thats the only way I have ever Bowfished and I had great luck at it. Hopefully we will be hitting the spawn before we are on the move. Last year it was just nuts here

Greg has some great photos from last summer. We spent 3 days on the lake, Logan even shot my compound! It was awesome!!

Very cool and fun! Like BT, that is the only way I've bowfished as well. Never have gotten to do it from a boat.

Went out today with a buddy. The conditions were terrible with wind and clouds. The fish are spawning though so I managed to bag 3 and he got 4 in about an hour and a half of fishing. I hit all the ones I could see. Lots of times a fin rose up and went down, just leaving moving weeds to shoot at and hope the fish was still there

Nice little Buff yesterday from the bank. (Size 12 in there for perspective)

On vacation this week. Going out for more today and maybe try to fill a turkey tag sometime this week.
