Red: back in the day...Texas buck

I ran across this brochure while cleaning out some drawers.
That's me on the right. It was about the time I started bowhunting. The Shin Oak was 16,000 acres in the middle of TX...just outside of San Antonio. I planned to go back the next year, but it was reportedly sold to Coca Cola. Awesome place to hunt. It was actually 41 degrees on the morning I took this deer...I remember being cold because I only took warm weather clothing. It had been in the 80's on the front part of the hunt. Anyway, 10 pt. scored 135. 179 lbs.

Thanks all...once in a while it pays to see what is hiding in your closet or under your bed. Only thing better than hunting memories is the anticipation of the next Fall and next hunt. I know it keeps many of us going through the year, especially when things get tough. It's sure a lot easier to put everything in perspective when sitting in a tree stand.
