Since my son might need a procedure, I can not afford to go on the NB hunt with my Dad and Brother.
So a coworker talked to her relative and asked him about a deal with him. He is interested though we have not talked price. He runs bears and bobcats with hounds. No one has ever asked him to do it with a bow before.
Anyone have any experience bowhunting bears run with hounds?

A guy I used to work with has hounds for bears. In NY you can't hunt with dogs, but he gets permits from the state for nusance bears. he also runs them in maine with buddies sometimes. he said it's pretty easy and very well suited for bow. The only time he said it gets a little hairy is the 1 in 200 bears that don't tree and just bay. other than that tree a bear, find a hole to shoot through and pick a spot. He said most times it's less that 30' up and you can get within 20yds..think of it as a reverse tree stand shot..... Thats all I got.

My cousin is a Bear Guide in Maine and uses dogs. It's pretty much what Skipmaster said. Most of the time they drive the roads as the dogs run , keeping the baying within ear shot. When the dogs bay or start to get out of ear shot they stop the truck and head after the dogs. Although you might have to run , my cousin isn't what you would call fit and trim and he manages to keep up with them each time
