The best part is that while I was dragging her out yesterday, I found a whole bunch of fresh scrapes! Then the landowner asked me if I had seen the albino doe? She said that there is one on the property that she has seen several times.
Does anyone know where you can send hides to be tanned anymore? Because of Lymes disease etc., I have not kept my hides for many years, but if I were to shot an albino, I would certainly want to get it tanned.

Congrats on the deer and a nice shot. I really like those heads, I think thats what Dad is going to use this year. i'll look into the hide tanning for you, too.

Thanks Skip! Actually, I am hunting 2 different spots that have albino deer, so who knows what my chances are? One of the deer has kind of become a "town pet", so I hope it does not come past me!

If it does come past and you don't need it for meet for this winter let her walk, but if you need the meat to get you through the winter..... well they take her.
Congratulations.

I wouldn't hesitate to shoot an albino as long as it was legal (some states it isn't). I think it would be awesome to have a mount or rug done with one. I realize that they are "special" but in all reality they are inferior animals. I wouldn't treat one any different than I would any other deer. My buddy has a spot in CT and has taken over 12 deer there in the past few years. All of them have some albino genes in them, rangeing from big white patches to clear hooves.
