Today was opening day here in Maryland. At 0708 a nice fat doe came in and turned broadside at 10 yds. I put a slick trick through her lungs. She ran about 40 yds and fell over.

No pics for this one. I'm not in on the doe contest, she wasn't the biggest anyway about 90 lbs.

Another doe down! I found out at 5:30 yesterday morning that I could not go to my primary spot. So I had to go to plan "B". After a hour on stand with acorns falling from a single tree about 30 yds to the South of me, three does came in munching all the way. The biggest of the three climbed into the dry stream bed about 20 yds away from me and gave me a quartering away shot. After the shot she ran off, but I heard crashing about 5 seconds later. When I looked back at where she had been standing, there was was arrow with it's tracer nock glowing like a neon sign, buried in the stream bank. I waited 20 minutes, and then came down the tree, and retrieved my arrow. I could see the doe about 40yds away. The Wasp Hammer SST 125 essentially went through her lengthwise. I hit her just to right of her spine behind the ribs, and it came out the front of her chest. Hurray for plan "B". The sausage is in the process of being made right now.
