My thoughts as well Although the heart is willing the time does not permit often and that keeps me from doing much more than preserve hunts anymore. I like hog hunting alot but my days of chasing free range are over till I retire more than likely.

Ok ,, I am reading this and thinking wow,, can hogs be fun ;D ;D yes but for me it can mean a sweaty day driving tposts into concrete.. I wen to the link.above If you don't mind a commercial high fence operation, look at the Circle T Bowhunting Ranch in Commerce TX. The place is a little over an hour out of DFW if you are going to fly. My 5 brothers and I have hunted there the last years and will go back next February. We've previously hunted for 2 days. I think we will all hunt 3 next year just to have an extra day. Note, you will have opportunities to shoot daily--the extra day is just to make the fun last longer! James will take care of you. He is a good ol boy and the place has tons of hogs as well as a number of exotic species. The hunt has become one of my favorite trips! By the way, James works with a meat processor who did a first class job of processing and packaging/mailing the finished product at a reasonable rate. The breakfast sausage and hams are outstanding! If you want another review on this place, contact Jeryy/NJ. I know he has been there a couple of times. I have a buddy that guides and cleans hogs for James. I have also sold him many hogs,,,Great place, one of the guys that works for me goes with the budy that works there all the time.I can also recomend another great place if they are booked up. Both are high fence and awsome

Sounds good! There are times when it is just as advantageous to fly to TX and hunt (when adjusting for cost) as it is to stay near home in the North east. The problem is that there are a number of good places and a number of bad places (anywhere) and when you travel you are apt to take the higher risk of hitting the bad places Thats why the INTERNET is a great place to do your pre-season planning
