The above kit from AMS is what I would suggest getting for your bowfishing set up. Their reel is the best IMO and the arrows will work fine I personally prefer the Muzzy quick release head but you can always change that later. The old zebco 202 salt reels are an accident waiting to happen and I would suggest staying away from them. I used to use the Zebco and had more than one close call The wrap around barrel reels are not the best for sure due to the fact that line strips off by accident more often then not till you get used to it and IMO , whats the sense in that Bows for bow fishing are best left to the recurve in the 45# range but compounds may and can be used. It really does not matter if you currently shoot a recurve or not...you will adapt easily given a first day at it. The advantage of the recurve is that it can be draw and shot far faster than a compound and that is a huge advantage for moving targets. Another advantage is when you drop your bow ;D (its gonna happen people...given enough time on the water ) That wooden recurve is gonna pay for itself right then and there Also...ebay has ALOT of 45# bows that will fit the bill in the $100. range. You don't need a boat to bowfish. I do all of mine from the streams edge and below water falls. Anywhere you can get within the waters edge , you can bowfish Below is a link for a good supply shop www.sullysbowfishing.com/

I've been giving it some thought BT. The suckers are running on all the streams here. But I'm not equipped for it and I don't think I'd like to see my Tech 29 get a bath!!

Funny I should come back to this thread after all this time. I was looking for a front mount reel today and realized I had given my last one away. Had to make one out of a fishing line spool!. It works ;D
