I have the AMS retreiver reel on my compound and a "spool" rig on my recurve. It's just a plain jane barrel type reel and it works great.
CC- I have a brand new Zebco 808 bowfishing reel I will send you if you would be interested. I bought it and used it once or twice before I was given a AMS reel and never put it back on my bow.

Other than the set up what do you need to bowfish polarized glasses? Also I have no boat so how do you go about it from the bank?

I also dont use a boat Depending on what you are going after there are good ways to bank fish including wading. I generally stand on the deep pockets in a stream and wait during the spawn. If you scout and area you will soon see where the carp are regularly entering to find food in the dead water. Suckers are much easier since they generally move straight line up streams.
