Skipmaster and I talked about this last year and for whatever reason , we didn't do it I am thinking about it again. Seems like winter is long and boring and in need of pheasant or grouse or something. Anyone ever gone bird hunting with thier bows? Any advise for wing shooting?

I have REALLY been wanting to try for geese or ducks! I have shot starlings and English sparrows here with my longbow, which there is no closed season for. Crow would be a challenge. Pheasant, Woodcock, and Grouse IMO would be an ultimate challenge. They fly fast. The Snaro Bird points would probably work great or steel blunts with flu-flu's.

I know a few guys who use the Gobbler Guilotines for birds on the fly with trad gear. The new magnus bullhead should be good to. I'm thinking about shooting a few crows for the contest. I usually bring my deer home and gut them out behind my house. there are always crows on the remains. i might pop up my blind near there. I'll use my compund and be shooting them on the ground though.

I'd like to see you trying to knock some birds down My daughter likes to film! i have to get a better camera though. It would be a life dream to get a traditional huting video made or tv program. 98% of what you see on tv is modern archery, which I have no problem with. All archery is hard, but the roots of our sport has been put by the wayside sadley. Fred Bear, Howard Hill, Art Young, Saxton Pope, Ben Pearson, Ishi, and I'm sure I'm missing a few, got us to where we are today and I feel their contributions aren't represented. Most shows focus on big game but i would like to see alot more small game, bow fishing, everything, which was what the pioneers did.

I feel the same way. Skipmaster has been working toward finishing his first video but hunting always ends up getting in the way ;D
Skipmaster needs a full time video guy or at least a two man crew because he shoots everything and wants to include traditional on his video
