Will the 85 or 100 gr. spitfire work on turkeys with a 340 gr setup at 225 fps at up to 35 yds Would the 85 gr be better?

I would say stay with the 85 grain. Less cutting diameter 1 1/4" and a just a little flatter flight. I'm using the 85 grain spitfires as well. I would seriously reconsider the 35 yd max range, however. That's a real small vital area you're trying to skewer. And you got a lot of arrow drop to contend with. Even with an arrow buzzing along @ 270fps, I won't take a shot over 25yds, and the closer the better. I hope both me and you can post some results in the bloodtrails section!

IMO....the spitfire is to big for that K.E. and at that range With 38.23 K.E. .... your just asking for some real potential problems. JMO However....if you want an expandable that may work well I would suggest looking at the modified hypershock XB which has been refined. Will you get a passthrough?...probably not but who cares?....the arrow in the bird is only going to make it harder for it to get air bourne I cannot suggest this head based on anything other than a belief that it may work well for you.

Honestly I would consider the Wac 'em Three blade head that weighs 85 grains and has a stainless steel ferrule with a cut on impact point. The cutting diameter is 1 1/32" and the blades are .027" thick. One of the best flying heads I have ever seen and your getting a good cutting diameter to boot I'll stand behind this head for this situation

Are the G5 Stryker Mags for sale yet? It's a Stryker with a 1.5" cut.
I believe they are the same blades(only bigger) that failed here on the Scap test, but I'd use them for turkeys with no hesitation

BT, I am not a fan of Hypershock's for many reasons, and this post got me to thinking. What about Sonorans? Basically the same design type, but I think they may be of better quality. Just tossing that out there. 100 grain 2 blade: 85 grain 2 blade:

I cannot speak to those at all snoodslapper. I like the curved blade of the hypershock because it lessens K.E. losses on the entry in a fixed head. With the new sharpened activators...it seemed to be a head that would be able to work just fine on a bird....not to speak of the fact that it doesn't open till it is interior. With 38# of K.E.....I would take that advantage myself IF I was looking at an expandable. All things considered I recommend the wac 'em because it is a super flier and is over an inch wide. Again , looking to maximize penetration and cut area at the same time. This is also the only head in the 85gr. that I felt matched all things considered. I believe his first choice was the 85gr. to match his current set up.
