The turkey I got this morning didn't gobble at all. He soft "sqeeked"...almost a purr, but more like a nasal cluck...weird sound, but you know it's a turkey when you hear it. He almost snuck up on me, but I caught his movement in the trees before he appeared. Too bad you couldn't have stayed another day, I'm sure there would have been more Toms to take a shot at, especially with the rain...

That was a nice bird Spiker but he was young and they won't gobble because they don't want the Boss tom to know where they are so they don't get there butt kicked. Don't worry BT you will get it done. When does your season end? Tracey and I will be out Starting Monday here in MI our season goes till the end of the month But hope we only need a day or two.

Got out this morning and got a tom to respond from maybe 200 yards out. Brought him in to about 60 yards and he wouldn't commit I was in the woods with only 40 yards visibility and He wouldn't clear it After I packed up , I walked to where he was and saw that he had been in another clearing with 30 yards of brush between us I cant go Monday and they are calling for thunder storms tomorrow but when I do go out next time I will hopefully be luckier
