I dont believe we can do that here in NY...can we?. I know it was illegal in Maine when I lived there....unless you took them in the air.
Thanks for the post....about the only way I'd really enjoy Duck hunting anymore.

Thats a question for the DEC, I dont know of any restrictions to hunting waterfowl outside nontoxic shot and a plug for the gun. A bow is nontoxic shot (unless your heaving lead broadheads lol).

I know that you cant shoot a goose on the ground...has to be in the air. I assume (you know what they say about assume ) that this may apply to all water fowl.

(Sorry, but DVD's were not as popular back then. Seems they only wrote about it...) Sadly, you hit the nail on the head with that one I remember the days when I would read and read and read about archery and combustion. Loved it! Sadly, the time does not permit that luxury anymore. Perhaps in retirement...if there are any books left

As far as I know thats a old time rumor supposedly to make it more sporting, I have and will continue to talk em to the ground and plug em on occasion.

I cant say as I have read the regulations on this lately because I dont bird hunt. However...when I first moved here I read the entire reg book a few times and that was in there. I remember a time in that first season when I had geese on a pond in front of me....perhaps 20 yards away and thinking to myself that it was a damn shame that I couldn't take that shot legally. Has that been changed since?....certainly could have been since the goose population is ridiculously high around here. I cant say for sure anything other than at one time it was the law. Maybe I will check that out this morning

I went to the online side of the state regulations and as you say...nothing at all. I'll keep this in mind and then re-check the actual book next year when I get my license.
