Once you get one with the bow...all else pales in comparison

I haven't got one with a bow yet but our fall turkey season is open in conjunction with our archery only deer seasons. In the spring, I generally use a shotgun. It will probably change once I get one with a bow but not yet.

In Missouri when you buy your archery deer tag you get 2 deer tags, only 1 buck can be killed before gun season, and 2 turkey tags. I have taken 2 turkeys in the fall while I was deer hunting but never one during the spring season. I don't have a blind and about everyone I see bow hunting in the spring hunts out of a blind. I know to me and my hunting buddies, getting a turkey with a bow is every bit as good as getting a deer.

I have bought turkey tags, but never gone. It seems I can never get a tag for an area where I have seen turkeys, and can't seem to make the time to check out areas that I can get tags for. This spring, I think I am headed to Nebraska for turkey. A pal of mine is going to help me get set up, and direct me to spot where I might just have some luck. I intend to keep a log and post a few stories - good, bad, or interesting. Usually I see them while elk hunting, they are up in the mountains but move around based on the time of year, or along river bottoms while deer hunting. The elk spots are not turkey areas, the deer spots require more points than I've had! So, maybe Nebraska...
