Here in Ct the tom's are already strutting. The season will open May 6 and by then 85% of the action is over. The state DEP eather doesn't have a clue or has some reason to have the opening day so late. How is the opening day and peak breeding time in your state.

Where I live in Ohio the turkey season seems to hit about mid way through and our open date for the season is April 20. There is no action yet the toms haven't been showing much interest so hopefully I will hit the peak of the breeding.

We have some action starting in the youth season which is one week prior to the opener. Then on opening day they are usually so henned up its not funny. By midseason it starts to get really good.I think we open on April 18th this year.

Mine opens next weekend, the 28th. The youth hunt is this weekend and I'm scouting under the guise of taking my daughter to get her first turkey. LOL. I really do hope she gets one. It would be better than me getting one although my team members might think otherwise. LOL.
