I saw a fox with one in his mouth up north, and believe that there is one on my property. They don't turn white until winter, and this guy is huge. I just watch them these days, my days of Beagle packs are long gone. Nice mess of cottontails there doc.

Snowshoe are awesome to hunt. I'm from Indiana and we don't have them here. We have cottontails and a native Indiana rabbit that they say we aren't supposed to hunt. I have a number of them on my land and It's difficult to tell the difference when they are running.
The Snowshoe, which I have hunted extensively, on the other hand, is easy to discern. He will leap when disturbed and cover twenty feet laterally in the air before lighting for his next bound. They are fast, the size of a beagle, and delicious.
Mucho fun, great eating.
P.S. I hunt them in Northern Wisconsin.
