I never have worked so hard in my life! It was insane and could have very well gotten ugly if it wasn't a different crew working together. we said it that night and it's true, looking back it was a good experience. we all pulled together and got it done. It really showed what kind of character we all had.........we all did great. we even managed to have some really good laughs in the process. I didn't say it before, but i am proud to know all of these men. they are great guys and didn't shy away from the hard work that came with the fun. This includes the boys as well. They are welcome to share my campfire anytime. Next time lets get some more members invloved!

we all decided that next time we are not going for HUGE ferral hogs and instead small ones or russians. we were thinking that we would have taken MUCH longer had we had another 5 or 6 hunters in the group, also shooting 400+ pound hogs. Maybe we could do it in two 8 hour shifts!

I get caught up in my emotions sometimes, and ramble without making a clear point at times. After reading my entire post about Trophy dude, I think that what I was really feeling was how gratefull I am that I was raised by a serious hunter, (my dad), and how lucky cougarkid, and redsoxsboy are, to be learning the same lessons. As youngsters, what other option do you have than to follow your elders lead. You are at the mercy of those that are in a position to teach, and if they fail you, you will have a good chance of failing yourself. I guess that I really felt the sorrow for those kids that they might never become hunters, or become bad ones because of their upbringing. I feel honored to be among those that I consider to be the elite of our creed, I thank you all!

whatts up my peeps? reading these posts tonight brings back what now seems so long ago......yet its not ive been laughing so hard my gut hurts. once again i must say how truly grateful i am to have shared camp with you ALL! I'm already looking foreward to doing it again in the future. spiker- I can't begin to tell you how sorry i am about not knowing how to run a vidio camera in the heat of the moment or under estimating your "blood lust". Carp season opens may 15 and maybe I can begin to make it up to you by filming you impaling some scales? Who knows maybe some whitetails from the "Bad Streets" of westchester will square us up!

You can bet I will be on this hunt in the future. I am stoked at the site of some of these hogs. I have shot wild boar before. But those pigs were huge. How much was it to shoot the big hogs you all shot? I will be looking forward to this next year. I might go up there before that even. Here is my first wild boar.

$450 for any hog below 500# and $550 for any hog above 500#. For most of us it came out to $2.00 or less per. pound after it was all boned out I believe. I have never seen hogs that big at any preserve so there is no guarantee that they will have anything like that in the future Those were catch hogs from N.C. They used to deal with some guys in Arkansas I believe Anyway , some of the hogs they catch may be from farms that have escaped in the last couple of years or they may be hogs that escaped from farms 200 years ago. Generally speaking their hogs at this place run 50 - 350#....this was a freak occurrence and we just happened to hit it at the right time to score some super freezer meat I'd also like to point out that Macdaddy (my Texas connection) said that price per. pound....this is the same as typical texas costs.
