OK Hog Hunt

The ranch had 300 acres with boundry fence no cross fencing. I sat up in a 15' ladder stand with no safety bar, not good! I did find the bar after i took my shot & hog when i got on the ground. My shot was about 15 yds, i waited & watched fer several min til the med sized sow became clear fer my shot. Pass-through double lung & death run of about 55 yds. I never lost sight of hog from time it was hit til it was down & dead. Was all over very quickly maybe 15 seconds at most.

Review of the Ranch & Hunt. They have a decent Bunk-house/cabin, has large bathroom & seems to hold about 8 ppl or more comfortable. Dale Toon & Joetta his wife run a decent hunting ranch. He does field dress animals and will cape & qtr fer and addional fee. They offer meals at extra cost or the you go to cafe fer yers & its $25 a nite without meals $50 a nite with good meals & beverages. We rode to the hunt area in a Kaw. mule hunts can be stands or spot n stalk. I felt comfortable as Dale nice to deal with. Will i go back to hunt ? Yes i will no doubt about it. There are many hogs running on the 300 acres & lots of Rams also of several types & horn sizes. This being the 1st & only ranch/preserve i have hunted on so no real experiance i give them an A. If you don't get shots on animals or take one or 2 home with you. Then i feel you would have shot & missed several times, ;D

Loved your review and looking forward to many many more.
I liked how they priced the hawgs out by weight. Especially since I like to shoot the ones 100 lbs and under.

Also I saw a picture of a nice muflon-cross ram too.

After thinking awhile on this. This Ranch does allow gun hunting, but unless yer the worlds worst shot. It would be like shooting fish in a barrel. I saw over 70 Hogs of all sizes with-in Bow shot range. I would say half that many Ram/Goats & such. The Ranch makes good Bow Hunting fer any style Bows. There was a group of 8 Bowhunters that were there when we got back to cabin area. They were going out the next morning with their Bows fer some spot & stalk hunting on hogs. Only one got their hog that morning. So there is abit of challenge hunting like that!
