i have an 07' PSE firestorm x and the serving is unraveling from the cable where it rolls over the draw module. it only has about 200 shots fired through it at most, and i know this shouldnt be happening so soon. i'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if something else is wrong. i'll post pics as soon as i figure out how.

You might have a sharp edge on the cam area that is coming in contact with the cable. You should get this straight back to the dealer and get a new cable put on or you can reserve it. The trouble with re-serving is that if you don't know how to do this you can cut it even faster the next time. The serving must not be to tight as to restrict movement inside but must not be to loose as to increase the diameter beyond the carrying capacity of the cam. If I remember your position correctly .... I am going to recommend the Pro shop I would first call PSE to get a authorization (possibly) to cover the expense. If it is a cam issue then PSE will ask you to send it back for exchange or refurbishing.

i noticed when i first got the bow that the serving in that part of the cable was not tied very well and then it got worse from there. this bow allows you to relax the string without a vice so i've checked the cam and module and there are no sharp edges. here is a pic, it just looks like shotty serving to me. i'm going to get help from a pro on new serving, i really dont want to have to send it back to the dealer because season is closing in and i really need as much practice as i can get. i was mainly wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Not to be negative, but PSE has the worst strings out there, well, one of the worst. I know, I own two. Thinking that PSE will pay for the repair is absurd, trust me, I will never buy another Bow with that name on it because of that. Having said that, they will however pay for the shipping to send it back to their factory...go figure, but, its at least a 3 week turn around. My advice to you is this......take it to a pro shop, it's a really minor repair, as long as the cam is smooth, and shouldn't cost much at all. Then, save for a real string, like a Winners Choice, and get rid of all the problems that the PSE string is going to continue to dish out...I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS....THEY ARE JUNK!! Then finally, when grandma makes a cheese cake for the holidays, you have the perfect string to tie the box to carry it in!

Despite Spikers obvious emotion on the issue, PSE customer service can be really good.
If your dealer is close enough take it back and they will reserve the string I am sure. As BT said, have them check the cams to make sure there is no 'lip' flicking or cutting the string. I doubt it is, PSE fit and finish is pretty good, especially on their newer bows. But you want to have everything checked out. If they balk, then call PSE or ask them to call PSE for coverage. If you have a cell phone, and they say they won't call, just flip open your phone and call them right there... hehe.
I've had good luck with my strings. My brothers stretched like Taffy. Get aftermarket strings when you can afford it. I can't right now and my PSE strings will last this season. Best of luck to you.

Yup....seen tis before. You really need to take it back and get a string or order one from Keystone Country Store. They are the fastest out there and you'll have it next day in your location www.keystonecountrystore.com/
