My new Bob Lee came with some Fast Flight string which is so noisy, it makes me shudder. I know you get some added fps with the stuff but I'm yearning for good old B-50 flemish. I have tried increasing brace height and adding some fur silencers, but still isn't quiet enough to my liking. Anyone have success in a quiet Fast Flight string or is it the nature of the beast?

Well I've had real good luck with it on my bows since switching to D-75 thin, but I've never messed with a Lee, also all FF is not the same, my favorites are D-75, TS-1 and 8125, the former being the loudest of the three but still very nice, Arwin if you'd like send me your specs and I'll twist you up a D-75 and a B-50....also fur isn't the best silencer, but it does look cool, which doesn't matter with targets, as for hunting I use cat whiskers, works the best when it really matters.....................Steve

My shrew has some sort of super thin fast flight on it and the bow is whisper quiet, even with no silencers.

Thanks Steve, I sent you a pm! I'll try the cat whiskers. BTW nice looking bows you make, I like the look of the elk riser. Skip, Greg does make a quiet shooting stick.

I like the yarn balls, although they are a pain in wet weather! You might try some foam on the limb just under where the string and limb part company when the bow is strung but at rest. Then try a shot. If the string is slapping the limb, this will let you know where the issue is. If the limb has a vibration, try a Sims vibration dampener on the limb - they can do a good job if the limb has a resonance. www.limbsaver.com/Products/Archery/Recurve_LimbSaver.aspx
