Looking for that's the best way to start a 8 year old boy shooting a bow.Do they start with fingers or do they make small releases??

I like to start kids out with a traditional setup, real close to the target. Once the attention starts to drift, which is different with each kid, then swap to sights. When the attention starts to drift again, then change over to compound and add a release. Also, to keep the interest up, change up the targets a lot - balloons are popular. Ping pong ball size targets, too.
