OMG..where to begin. Me, and MrX went down to a shop within traveling distance last night.
We shot the Mathews Monster 6, the Mathews z7 , and the Hoyt Alphaburner.
The Hoyt Alphaburner was the hands down winner for both of us.
It's heavy, and holds on target better, at least for us, than the other two.
The z7 is so light that it's hard to hold steady.
The Monster was a good compromise in that department.
As far as noise, Hoyt's finally done it! A quieter bow..it sounded great.
Monster has a slap sound, and the z7 is pretty quiet also.
The ALPHABURNER is accurate as hell!
So were the other two.
All three were as shock free as you could expect.
Draw cycle. Hands down the z7 is the smoothest bow I have ever drawn.
The AlphaBurner has a slight hump before the wall, but nothing that would turn me away from buying one.
The Monster has a surprisingly small hump as well...for a 353 ibo bow..wow.
I, and MrX felt that the Alpha Burner had the best feel out of all three.
But here's the rub..
Hoyt is out of its mind with these new prices!!!!!! $959.99!!!!
And the shop is under watch by Hoyt because they were cutting deals with loyal customers to try and ease the pain a little. Someone told someone who told on them.
The Monster at $739 just as good a bow in my eyes.
The z7 didn't make the price quote...we weren't interested.
So........ MrX NOW IS THE PROUD OWNER OF A MONSTER 6!!
I just saw HOYT get shot down by price. That's the way it goes. There are so many great bows out there today that these companies had better start becoming competitive.
Congrats to MrX, and when he pays it off, we can get to accessorizing that bad boy.
