I'll keep this in mind if and when I draw a Maine moose tag...

That is nuts!! Keep in mind the poorness of that shot too ... IMHO I would have not taken that shot ... ever! Course, being on the ground and shaking makes all the difference in the situation.

I was thinking the same thing too. A quartering to shot on a moose? Seems like a risky practice. Of course, I'm sure the guy was a touch nervous with a bull being that close. Which probably clouded his judgement at the moment. Would mine ;D

Thats nuts.I bet his scent control just went way downhill ;D Shot probably wasn't a great idea, but he hit it in the best spot possible from that angle,as there is a soft spot there and vitals behind it.. Notice the arrow disappeared? I say dead moose.Would like to know just what the arrow hit from that shot, I know a guy who took a similar shot on a bull elk last year, arrow went through one lung the liver exited the stomach and center punched a testical ....I hear the bull commited suicide ;D ;D Ster

For the life of me I can't see where he hit so it had to be a good hit. The manikan sure was shakin' looked more like me shaking like a leaf on a twig I would take a full frontal (coke can - well more like football) shot on an elk and even a moose if I could be in a spot where the moose couldn't get me when it charges. On a frontal shot it is more than likely the moose will charge and keep going when shot I believe (elk I wouldn't even hesitate). But here with a fairly hard quartering shot the lungs are getting a lot more protected and of course ... no hiding cover ;D

The moose that I have shot have all took off at a dead run straight ahead as soon as the arrow impacted. So if you are in front of them I would say that you might get run over.
