Most of us know this as being a title for an animated Christmas special, but for some it is a reality... .....My now eldest son got into some serious trouble in Sacramento CA. this year on my birthday 6/29, he has been in lots of trouble in his 21 years, but this was by far the worst, I found out about it when a Bail bondsman called me, Casey was in serious trouble, but not as Casey...he had given them the name of his brother Lance.....IK told them exactly who he really was, and I called the sherrif and District attorney to inform them too, , they sent a local officer to see my son Lance and get Identity verification for both him and Casey........we thought the matter taken care of...........until...... a few days ago on the 21st., I decided to check out how Casey was doing and got on the inmate information portion of the County jail there.......Casey was not listed in their system...Hmmm.what happened?.. where is he?...must got out somehow.... almost left the site when I decided to check Lance's name..Well there it was, with an inmate number and everything, I became very concerned and very pissed as they knew exactly who they had.....but he still remained in Lance's name, well I fired off a letter to the facility commander, and I recieved a response later that day that stated that they knew it was Casey, but as long as he is with them, he will remain listed as Lance, now this was not just a clerical error, they had arrested, charged, tried , convicted and sentenced Casey to two years max security in Lance's name!, and now Lance who has never been in a spec of trouble has a felony conviction involving maximum security detention on his record........This was unbelieveble to me that something like this could happen, then it dawned on me, what if this is happening to someone else?, some other father searching for their kid that's listed under an assumed name and not his own, Had I not recieved the call I did from the bondsman I would not know where my son is, and that would truly be my worst nightmare at Christmas time....A missing child........So I started contacting Lawyers, and officials looking for help, looking for answers, I even Spoke with Gloria Allred, who referred me to another very high profile California attorney, as her schedule was very full... I called and spoke with them on the 23rd....explained what was going on and they started punching up databases to see what they had put Casey through.....and then she stopped and said Casey has been released, yesterday on the 22nd!.........she was very puzzled by this as there was no place listed where he was released to.. and about 30 seconds later...Oh my god...Oh my god, Mr Hartley, hang on........I waited.. when she came back she says, "I just spoke with the partners, and sir we are going to try and find your son for you, we have all your info and we'll get back to you very shortly"............so now it has been 3 days, there's no paper trail and I haven't heard a word,...............What I was so worried about happening to other parents has happened to us...... my worst nighmare has come true..... my son is missing.......and we are searching high and low.......
