I have spent the last two days shooting the fingers off my hand with the longbow. Spiker got me going again with his Robinhood last week I cant say as I can match his feat but I can say that I have gotten my instinctive groove back It's so great to have found it because I can just relax and shoot without the hassle of an aiming process. I can see why Byron Ferguson has a hard time explaining the act of instinctive shots but I know where he is coming from when he talks about it. Now if I can just keep it unlike last year when I fell apart a month before season ;D

I've got my fingers back! As nobody told me I should be wearing a glove, I pretty much ripped the skin off my finger tips. But they're back and ready for some more. After the hog hunt I want in on the trad scene. I told you, I worked hard developing my form, I'm not changing it for a glove! ;D ;D ;D

I wish I had a better bow for you. I threw that other one in the trash last night. I forgot about it's faulty riser when I handed it to you. Maybe we can get one on the raffles this year

Stress cracks in the tree stand, faulty riser on the bow, man, am I coming back alive from this hog hunt? I have to start looking over my back!

I have that longbow that BT gave me back the other day. It's not real fancy but it works and it was cheap. you can borrow that before having to live in the doghouse for a while.....
I am finally getting things to come together. it seems amny things in my form were deteriorating. I think I am finally getting back into the groove. I felt it coming back by the end of our shooting on saturday. I robin hooded ANOTHER arrow at 15yds today with the recurve. I only am shooting 3 arrows! this is getting expensive.

Great to hear this Skipmater Some things you just have to work out for yourself. Having the answers is (sometimes) only a way to complicate the question

You still have three weeks to go. Somerthing tells me you will be ready, and confidant enough to pull it off with the recurve.

Holy smokes! I have found the point of aim for the longbow I am not against instinctive but I am never 100% comfortable with it to be honest But!......I just happened to catch something while shooting yesterday and I felt I could make it work. So I took 3 different spine weight arrows , with two different lengths and 3 head weights and began shooting a hard high anchor like I do my recurve. The answer was right under my nose I now am able to hold the arrow dead on at 1 O'Clock on the mark and hit without elevation change from 5 - 15 yards. With the same 1 O'Clock I can hold 8" over (or on the back) for 20 yards and roughly 10" over the back for 30yrds. (3-D only) I am so happy about this and to think that I have to thank a robinhood in my back yard to get me back at it with this longbow.
