Got a chance for a Wing recuvre 55 lbs. it's in good shape and hardly ever used. It is from I think the 60's. Any Idea what it is worth?? I know the owner and he did buy it new but never really got into it and his shoulders are in bad shape so he offered it to me.

Bob Lee's line of bows...before the Bob Lee line. Price varies for reasons of purchase. In mint condition as a wall hanger, maybe as much as $150....depending on the model. Many shooters are less than 100. with 70 being an average.

See if you can find your bow on this listing... Wing has several posted on here... Might take a while to load - www.archeryhistory.com/recurves/recurves.htmOr go straight to the source - much better, Bob Lee web site - www.bobleebows.net/bob_lee_wing_archery.htmlFrom the above link : "Bob Lee's journey to the National Bowhunters Hall of Fame began at the age of 23, when Bob attended one of Texas' first organized shoots and became enthralled with the advanced archery equipment he discovered therein. This enthusiasm prompted him to forge a garage business he branded as Wing Archery, a company that would experience explosive success throughout the fifties, sixties, and seventies and emerge the era's premier archery manufacturer and trendsetter, with daily shipments averaging more than 300 bows." Just looking around the Bob Lee site is worth the time. Of course, the bows he offers now are a few bucks more than they used to sell for... Price - Probably anywhere from $2 at a garage sale to something close to the $150 BT mentioned - from a collector on Ebay. From what I read, the bows were great and had a strong following turning in to Bob Lee Archery. Some of the bows made were more sought after - those would bring a better price. What model is it? Can you find out? If not a presentation bow, special production or target bow - I wouldn't pay more than $30 to $50 for it - I am not a collector - I'd go for the closer to $30. I buy bows to shoot them. Keep in mind that once it is yours, it is yours. So long as the glue holds, its a good deal. Looking on ebay for wing archery - I found bows selling from $33 to $109 - very much depends on which model. Older ones closer to $30 - off color light blue limbs - those that look more current at the $100 end - some bids are still active and could go for more I suppose. Make sure the bow was not stored standing on end in a closet - it could have effected the curve of the limb it was standing on. Sorry to be so long getting back on this one... Did you end up getting it or let it pass - or still thinking it over? stevej

I may have a new-to-me bow soon as well. I have been looking for a 60# longbow for hunting... Glass back and belly for durability and weather resistance, but not wanting to pay a new bow price. A pal of mine has a bow built by Gordy Morey out of Az, an R/D one piece, Lightening, 68 inch tip to tip. Supposed to give me somewhere around 190 to 200 fps with a 500 grain arrow. We've not come to a price yet but he is going to bring it up for me to shoot a round or two out at the range and see if I like it. I am kind of excited about it and certainly looking forward to seeing how it shoots. The bowyer, Gordy, for what ever reason no longer has a web site up and running or I'd post a link. New bows are always fun!

The value of your bow is directly proportional to the shooter.
