Feather burner

Does anybody have a plan for a homemade feather burner? I am making more and more primitive arrows and I've been cutting some pretty dull shapes just using a simple scissors. I want to make some more elaborate cuts but am limited. I looked on Ebay for feather burners but didn't find much. I know Young still makes one but I like to build my own stuff. I use the arrows for displays and in ceremonies and would like a better look for them.

I JUST threw a home made one out last week! My father had made it when he was a kid. It worked well too. I was on a ramoage and throwing out anything I couldn't remember using........dam.

I remember an INTERNET article that explained how to make a burner.

I believe it used filament wire and a battery ....but I cant be sure of that as a matter of fact.

3rivers has them I believe but aside from that I am of no help.

The one I had was a wire that was wrapped around porcelin insulator and plugged into the wall. the wire would get hot and you could use it to burn feathers.

It is not in demand very much these days. I can get a young for about $100 but I would never use it to it's potential.
