I JUST threw a home made one out last week! My father had made it when he was a kid. It worked well too. I was on a ramoage and throwing out anything I couldn't remember using........dam.

I remember an INTERNET article that explained how to make a burner.
I believe it used filament wire and a battery ....but I cant be sure of that as a matter of fact.
3rivers has them I believe but aside from that I am of no help.

The one I had was a wire that was wrapped around porcelin insulator and plugged into the wall. the wire would get hot and you could use it to burn feathers.

It is not in demand very much these days. I can get a young for about $100 but I would never use it to it's potential.
