I went into Cabela's with the sole purpose of buying a knife sharpener. Yeah, right, we know how that works ;D I gravitate to the archery department like I always do and gawk at bows. What caught my eye was a metal riser recurve from Martin. 40#, $140 Why so cheap-it certainly did not look like a KMart blue light special bow in the least. But for the price, at least it would get me back shooting again. I spend about a half an hour at the range, and let me tell you, I was blown away. Easy to shoot, seemingly quick (did not chrono it, however), and unbelievably quite. Out comes the credit card I did some research on this bow on the computer and apparently Martin can't make these bows fast enough. The risers are left over from the discontinued Jaguar compound and Martin found an ingenious way to get rid of them. The limbs, at least initially, are manufactured by Damon Howatt. The recurve can take fast flight strings and top speed is reportedly in excess of 200fps. I foresee perhaps one or two more Jaguar T/D's in my future

You may have just sealed the deal for me, DG. I have been looking at these for awhile now but I wasn't real sure about them. I look forward to more reports on it's performance before I heat my card up.

Angel said when she goes back to work, I can buy all the guns and bows I want. Sounds good enough to me.

Hows the physical weight and hows the width on the grip?

BT: It weighs almost 3lbs, so it's hefty for a recurve. I have no issues with grip, unlike my Bear Grizzly, whose grip was just way too large for my hands.
