Well, it has been an extremely hot and slow season. I've been hunting low to mid 90's for weeks. We finally got a bit of a cool down....61 degrees. 
Took this little buck this evening. My first of the season, so I am grateful. God is good. Anyway, used an X-System. Broadside, pass through....hit a root, ricocheted and stuck into a tree about 3 feet up at a 90 degree angle from my stand. Weird. Decent, but not super blood trail. Can't argue with the outcome, however. He only went 40 yards. Broadhead looks like new, no damage. The Iceman was smooth as butta.

...trying to figure out which broadhead I want to be first out of the quiver on the next hunt. 
The areas that I hunt are as thick as a Tarzan jungle. If your deer doesn't drop within 50 yards of the stand, your chance of recovery is slim to none.
