Thats a 4.5 y.o. deer. How old do you want them to be before shooting?

?do you hunt with a bow or a camera? you have some lovely pictures, you must spend alot of time in the great out of doors, just keep it up I really enjoy your photos. Thank you!! Oldgun, I hunt with both. 8 years ago I started hunting Jon's farm. He told me I could shoot what I wanted but he would prefer that I shot the bigger bucks and does. I told him I already decided thats what I was going to do. I am more after big does than bucks, but if a big buck comes by I will shoot. now for me hitting a big buck is a different story starting with a monster 12 that got under my arrow close to 30 years ago. I had a huge doe this year that snorts at the blind. I have that happen every year. they have to get used to the lift being up. she is a huge doe that dwarfed the 2-1/2 year old 8 that was by the blind. She is always looking at the blind. as she was feeding she started to turn. She was quartered to me by just a little bit and her leg was back. I wanted her to take a step forward for the shot. (she was at 15 yds). The next thing I knew she was running....from that darn 8. I shot 2 does and a buck last year so I still have deer in the freezer and a buch more that I canned in the basement, so I really dont need venison except for sausage. so since she snorted at the blind every time she comes by, it is a war..her against me. I will not mess with the camera while she is near the blind because a doe that big and old never forgets. not a buck coming by has to be huge before I will think about picking up the bow, otherwise it is camera time. Have a safe and fun time out there everybody, Jack

JLC it is great you have standards most people I hunt with have these and they are always different. That's what makes us individuals.

Great pics and if he walked past my stand I would have a hard time not letting an arrow fly. Keep doing what you do because I love your pics and I want to see what you consider a really big buck
