For the supersportsman you will pay 88 dollars for, it no longer includes your doe permit, so it is actually 98 dollars, and if you hunt ducks you can tag on another 15 But you did hear wrong, the increased cost is effective for all liscences sold here is a copied quote from the NYS DEC website from this page www.dec.ny.gov/permits/54955.htmlIf I purchase my 2009-2010 license before October 1, 2009, do I have to pay the new fees? Yes. The 2009-2010 hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses will go on sale August 17, 2009. The increased fees will be in effect for the 2009-2010 licenses. Fees for the 2008-2009 hunting, fishing and trapping licenses will remain the same through September 30, 2009.

The Sportsman License here is $136 a year and, depending on age, $200-$1650 for a lifetime. Ours are all inclusive. We don't have to buy any extra permits other than the Federal Duck Stamp. I save over $100 a year buying my Sportsman over the regular license and all of my permits individually. I think ours is a real good deal.
