Well, almost. ;D The guys at the shop and I got her put together. The weight is not bad. It feels much like a rifle (did I say that ? ). The manager was to first to cock and shoot the bow. They never had one at the store before, so everyone was a little edgy. Fairly quiet.. It buried the bolt to the nock on a brand new block target. Smokin' is definitely the word, since you could smell burnt metal after each shot. My turn to cock the bow. Not bad. It took no more effort than my old Tenpoint. BUT-a snag. Either I'm too short or the bow is too long. I don't have long enough arms to get the bow to full draw. ;D. I told them right then and there I'm not purchasing the bow unless they find me a crank device to use with this crossbow. Of course, that's a lie, because I'm buying the bow tommorrow anyways. I just want them to do the work. They can expend a little effort to seal the deal on a $1000.00 bow. This crossbow is absolutely sick. Pics to come tommorrow when I bring my baby home.

You could shorten the rope on the rope cocker or go for platform shoes. ;D ;D

I just don't have enough torso (and legs) to complete the 15inch powerstroke. Now the platform shoes....

Oh well, a SF owner on another forum said the rope cocker is a real pain in a tree stand.............better to go with a crank cocker. I have cocked my excal a number of times in my ladder stand with no problems. I never did get a second shot but you never know. ;D ;D

A STRYKEFORCE very nice X-bow. If you have a problem finding a good ratchet cocker then maybe a pair of camo platform shoes would work like ghost stated ;D ;D It will be great to hear your report on how this X-bow shoots shot after shot.

When you cock the xbow try tucking the stock in your arm pit. That should make it easier at the beginning of the cocking stroke. As long as you are using a cocking rope the string will still be centered in the trigger assembly. Bob

Well the bow came home with me today. Now I get to look at it for a week or so until I can get something to help me cock it. It just blows my mind that it didn't occur to Bowtech to offer a cocking mechanism for this bow. Actually, it pisses me off something royal The shop called Bowtech asking what to do. Bowtech had a hard time understanding that I just don't have the height/arm lenght to get this bow cocked. I certainly am not going to try and cock this beast by hand. To their credit, they said would have engineering look into the matter and see if they can come up with something for me by next week. You know, I could of bought a 10pt Flex, with Accudraw, and saved $300. At least I would have been able to shoot it. If it weren't for the fact that the Strykeforce slings arrows 385fps, I would of walked away.

It is not visible on his web site but he has set others up that can not cock the bow. www.wyverncreations.com/Send him an email explaining your problem and I believe that it will be fixed. I think he sells your bow for $900 plus or minus a few $. ;D Ghost

Doegirl,
Definitely call David at Wyverns Creations. He is an excellent guy to talk to as he as a lot of knowledge when it comes to xbows, has good pricing and has excellent customer service. My dad bought a Parker xbow from him and ordered it late in the afternoon on a Friday. The xbow was on his doorstep Saturday morning about 18 hours later. He actually took the order, hung up and shipped the bow and accessories, and then called back for the payment info just so he could get the bow out that day. Otherwise it would have gone out the following Monday.
I looked over on AT as I remembered reading about the crank issue. I found this reply in a post on AT that David (Wyvern) made:" No, the crank from the Stryker would not work as it is integrated within the rail on a chain. The Accudraw will not work either as the stock is too thick. The Parker sidewinder with some slight modification works though... Wyvern"
I hope this helps you.
Bob
