I started to see a problem in my string at the roller
Gard wheels on my Mathews. We checked the bow out
and the only thing we could figure was the bearings
were worn out and had a little lean to them. The string
serving was starting to bunch up in an area about 3/8
of an inch just at the edge of the wheel. It was hard to
see untill you drew the bow back and exposed the area.
We ordered the replacement wheels only to find out you
had to buy the hole Gard with the two rollers.I was told
by my pro that if he gets somthing from a distributor he
gets it in one to three days. But he said the manufactures
take their sweet time.I have bene shooting a lot less
because I didn't want to wear through the serving. After
THREE WEEKS It finally came in.I went down and we
pulled off the old one(I put it in my pocket)and as we
started putting it back together I said lets see if we
can get the lump out of the serving.WELL I am glad I did
because it was worn through.Pro said WELL looks like I'll
be putting on a new serving. This sucker is one long puppy
He said you get it off and I'll put it on.It took me about 35-40
min to remove it.I had to go pick my wife up so said take
your time and I'll be back tomorrow.I know I don't like people
breathing down my neck when I work.
I stoped in today and he lit up.YOU DON'T EVEN WANT TO KNOW
.I worked for 3 hours on the bow and made calls
to Mathews. The bow was in spec, but my white paint mark
on my cam that I put there to keep tabs on string stretch was
one inch off .Finally after talking to Mathews tec they sent
the WRONG one .I had taken the old one home so he had
nothing to compare it to.The bill said Mathews Mustang but
the part came in a clear plastic bag.He called back and it took
them five hours to return his call.He gave them hell and they
are I hope overnighting or somthing like that with a prepaid
mailer to send back the other one.
The lesson I have lurned is I need a back up bow.If this happened
during hunting season I would be in a bad way.
I feel bad for Bill having this after putting on a 28 in serving.
That knowing him he will not charge me for but I will stick
some $$$ in his pocket even if he says no.
After hearing some of his stories I would last 5 min in a bow
shop .Like the idiot that dry fires a new bow says I'm glad
I didn't buy that peace of junk and walks out not even saying
I'm sorry. :-[Leaving Bill with a broken limb.
