Just a queston on a second bow.I have one bow. It's a Mathews Mustang 40-50#@26in.draw.I love it. It feels like a dream that grew out of my arm.I think I shoot it very well.Manly for only shooting for about 14 months.I think I am totally addicted to shooting it and shoot every day.I don't know if you can shoot a bow to much and what the life expediency of a good bow is.I like the feel of this bow. I am on my first replacement string, also replaced the top string dampener two or three times and am now waiting for the two little wheels that I think I have worn out.I could shoot all day if I had the time.Even if its raining and I want to see how an arrow flies I shoot in the rain.Sucks with feathers ;D. Being in the handy cap small and short class I can't find the bows to try in my size to shoot.I can handle many that I can't shoot and I can tell if I like the feel of just holding it for weight and balance. I'm thinking I might need a back up bow.Amd I'm thinking of getting anouther Mathews Mustang 40-50#@26" AM I CRAZY

I don't think you are crazy at all. If you get another bow, and it shoots a bit differently from the mustang, you will have to be able to adjust to the difference when you need the backup bow... Let's say you get ready for the season with the mustang, and you know right where that big buck will be opening morning. You get up opening day and notice that there is a problem with the mustang!!! So you grab the backup bow...
Two schools of thought, so far as I can see, about backup bows. 1 - You really don't ever plan to use it, but if you had to, you could make do. 2 - You want a clone of the main bow so that if anything should go wrong with the main bow, the backup is %100 the same so picking it up will make no difference to you when that big time shot comes along. I see this more in people I know who go to Africa and other big cost hunts. Even caribou hunting in Canada I saw guys there with two bows that looked like clones. Then, of course, there was me... with a compound and my 3 piece take down longbow... Hmmmm... I guess I should say that there are 3 schools of thought on this issue!

I have three Matthews and love shooting all three of them I always have a backup bow ready especially when on a trip. If you want what you like and are used to buy another you could actually rotate shooting them and your strings would last a little longer.
