Yeah...the scent lock debate has been pretty much one sided against the scent lock. Dogs and cats have no problem at all finding anything wrapped up in it. The U.S. defense dept. also says that it is worthless after being exposed to air for a period of just hours and requires 5000 degree's to cleanse the carbon for reuse.....not 500....5000!. Army gear is pretty much solid carbon and not specks and pieces scattered about in the batting of the clothing. I have always contended that the company would be sued and would loose that suit if a tangible monetary lose could be attached to hunting.
Scent lock is like a religious faith that provides more miracles by means of faith than actual miracles.

Good thing deer can't smell as well as bloodhounds lmao... ;D I was just explaining to my neighbor about the Scentlock myth. Then explained how I buy it all anyway...it's kind of like the religion angle. You might as well believe in god, because if you don't, and your wrong, the consequences are a bit worse than if you do, and are wrong....

I don't and will not use it.But I can tell you the YouTube test had in my opinion many flaws. The guy that was in the tree was dressed all wrong. When you wear high rubber boots you tuck your pants into them. You tuck your shirt into your pants!.You tape your sleeves at your gloves and if the FBI was after me I would cover my face with Vaseline. A dog smells the small skin cells that fall off your body.If they hit the ground the dog can pick them up.If you are all tucked in less scent will drop to the ground. The guy with the bloodhound needs to learn about scent. I see a dog mostly scenting ground scent and a deer who also ground scents but is mostly a head up air sniffer. Two differant stiles but I think a deer can out smell a dog any day of the week in a heads up on the wind scent.I'm not talking the cold nosed ground sniffing slow moving scent hound. Also I think many tracking dogs figure out how to track a line of crushed vegetation. When a big flat footed person walks or runs he disturbs the ground cover and the dog uses that to.JMO

All I know is from my experiences with scentlock. Just like any tool used, if used wrong you won't reap the benefits. I do think that the scentlock cloths are over priced but I have had great success with it when used properly. I wash all my cloths in scent free detergent, store in a scent free bag, and only put it on when I am ready to enter the woods. I wash myself in scent wash and spray down when ready to enter the woods also. I wear scentlock under garments and then put on scentlock camo over that. I have had more success with this than any other method tried. I have deer come from down wind and can't smell me at all. I have never been blown at by a deer since I started doing this regiment ether. I have had dogs that knew me well and didn't recognize me because my scent was not noticeable. Only after calling to them and walking slowly at them did they smell my hand and then only stopped barking at me and they seemed unsettled by it also. So like I mentioned if you use the tools right you can have great success and positive results, that is my 2 cents About three years ago a man did sue scentlock on the grounds of costing him his hunt of a life time. He stated he purchased the whole out fit from scentlock followed the instructions to a T and when he went elk hunting an elk walked down wind and caught his scent and fled. He was suing them for the cost of the hunt, his cloths, time off work and other damages. I never did find out the out come but it was ongoing for some time.

I have never used any sent lock or sent blocker suit. Too expensive! I do wash my cloths in scentless detergent and air dry on the line outside and keep them in a tote with earth sent wafers separate from everything else. I have to agree that it is a belief and makes you feel invisible to the deers nose which helps you to sit longer.
