well today i couldn'd hunt my spot in CT, so I went to the bow shop and decided to shoot a 300 round. Mind you I am shooting 73#'s with big pins and a short stab. No back tension here either. I ended up doing well on my first round. I shot a 296 with 31x's. If I had been shooting some fat boys I would have shot a 298 and close to 44x's. The part that killed me is that my bow is sighted in at 28yds so I needed to hold just below the x ring. most of my shots were just high. next week it's getting smaller pins and sighted in at 20yds with Fat arrows. 300 should be cake. Next year I'm getting a 70# Pro-Elite for spots. watch out target boys!

If your gonna shoot a dedicated spot bow man - do yourself a favor and go light!
My Apex is ony pulling 58 pounds. More than enough!
I KNOW you like that gorilla weight, but seriously - "It's only 20 yards!"

Yeah, I know light is the way to go, but I was shooting a 55# bow today and couldn't hit a dang thing. I think 65#'s is as light as i could go and be accurate. for some reason I feel more comfortable with holding more weight. For now my goal is to shoot a 300 with 40x's from my hunting rig.

Thats whats good about using a hard wall. I went from 72 to 60lbs and besides being much easier to pull back, the shot feels the same because I'm pulling hard into the wall.
