Well the day started out REAL chilly with a nasty wind. There were a lot of targets out in the open and it made some of the shots real tough. We probably had a 20mph+ wind at times out in the open. Even in the woods the wind was whipping pretty good. Thankfully it warmed up though. John, Jen and myself went up with a member of our club, Dave, who happens to be a decent shooter.
All in all it was a pretty tough day. The second half of the course ate us up. It seemed pretty long and took us a good while to run the course even with no one holding us up.
I ended up with a 267. Jen shot well with a 216. Dave shot a 255 from the Pro stake. And John...well...let's just say he had "one of those days". TP set in pretty bad the last 10 targets for him. He didn't even talley his score.
Still beats being home doing yard work.
Here are some pics of the day.
Dave setting up for a shot at a leaning bear through the notch of a tree.
Jen about to lauch an arrow into the field at the same bear.
Jen lining up a shot at a bedded doe.
The shot of the day! If you look closely at the second arrow up from the bottom you'll notice a few things missing. That's Jen's arrow. I destroyed it!! It was pretty much a Robinhood without the arrow sticking in her arrow. I ripped the arrow open half through the shaft. You can see a slinter with some of her wrap and a fletch hanging over the other arrows!
Dave lining up a shot at deer in a field.
John lining up the same shot.
John taking a downhill sloping shot at a deer.
Where it started going bad for John. You had to shoot this bear through the "V" of the 2 trees in front of it. With the wind blowing as it was this was a real tricky shot. Needless to say...Tree-1, John-0
Dave taking a poke at the same deer.
