Today was a great shoot. The humidity was brutal though. Paul...your course was entertaining today. I'm sure your ears were ringing when I stepped up to the wolf on the secong half of the course...lol ;D. I felt better shooting today, then I have in some time. Here are some pics from today... Me shooting the uphill buck... Jen and I shooting the 'bou... Jen and I both shooting the uphill wolf on the stump...this was one of many cool set ups today... Both of us shooting the fallow deer... Jen shooting the climbing wolverine... More great use of a tree stump... Me judging yardage on the little piggy. You can see by my shirt how humid it was today!... Jen shooting the piggy... Great set up on the alligator, attacking a deer. This was shot from a bridge, and the rocks you see are actually the top of a waterfall. Another great set up... Jen shooting the pronhorn, from a ground blind. Another shot you don't see often. Tricky going from the thick woods, out into the open, I misjudged it, and ended up with a nickel...

The life like animals are called 3D targets, thus the shoots are called 3D shoots. A normal course consists of 28-35 targets, at various ranges. There are stakes at different yardages that you shoot depending on your skill level, and equiptment used.
Where abouts in NY is Baldwinsville?

hmmm maybe a road trip be in order in the future lol I'm gonna give you fair warning...It is more addictive then crack!!!!!! I went to this club last July, just to try with VonOtto,Scottyluck, Skipmaster, and his Dad, And BT. I was instantly hooked. Since then I have shot approximately 40 3d's, and joined an archery club. Not to mention getting my wife hooked as well! We shoot a lot of shoots off the Taconic during the year. I think there is one or 2 left this year, and then t he season will start again in March. Come join us for a shoot. You won't be sorry.

hmmm maybe a road trip be in order in the future lol There is a bowhunters weekend in Hyde Park NY that you have to come to if you are going to do this at all. This one is worth the ride You will also be able to meet the legendary Vonottoexperience if you do make it for the morning side of the shoot.
