Got the first DVD finished / edited and burned today Covers basic ....serving / set up of the rest and nocking point / 2 cam timing methods / broadhead selection theory / nock selection and a demo showing the effects of different nocks on the same arrow. The serving is a demo to show how to apply in order to save the underlying serving for those who do not use a string loop. The basic set up details how to use a bow square and how to place the rest, nocking point based on the arrow used at the time. Cam timing covers how to determine if your bow is in time and how to fix if it is not. (If you don't have a press at least you'll know how to keep an eye on the guy at the pro shop ) Broadhead selection covers best to lest effective designs as to penetration. It's good basic info. that will allow someone to judge a head without trying it. (There is nothing I can show on film that will allow a novice to judge a blades structural integrity or flight so I didn't try ) The nock section describes how to tame unruly nocks and how to choose the correct nocks for your string. The demo shows the effects of different nock fits on flight. O.K..... Now lets get something together for the second disc. I want to do the second on shooting form and once again I want Skipmaster to work with me on this Disc. This will probably take up 30 to 45 Min's and I need 20 minutes beyond that. Suggestions?

Sounds like a great DVD Bt. I have been setting up and tuning my neighbors bow the last three years. He wants to be able to do everything himself and asked about books. I told him a DVD would be better.
I picked up one last fall put out by John Eberhart but it sounds like yours touches on a few points not covered in his.

I'd be happy to do some more shooting for the DVD. I can even shoot with proper form instead of my version of it.

Well I do want to go over proper form as well as the in control/out of control that seems to work well for some The only thing I wish I could do better on this tape is the lighting inside. It looks like VHS but other than that....it's good

Does the cam timing section include single and double cam bows?

Only the double cam which are considered harder to tune (false) I should have done the single cam as well but I don't own any. None the less....I should mention the fact that they can and do go out of time. I am worried that the whole issue of timing is lost on the viewer who does not own a press (majority) but as I said in the DVD....If you know how to do it then at least you can watch the "PRO" to make sure he is doing his/her job correctly I really debated doing it at all but I felt it was worthwhile based on the fact that you at least need to know the process. Maybe I should hack whole part since the DVD is really aimed at the home wrench to be.... as opposed to the advanced wrench in training.

I have decided to throw this on the back burner till summer. I just wasn't happy with the film quality under the florescent lights. I can do everything outside under far better conditions during the summer anyway and there certainly is no rush since the shooting portion cant be done correctly until sping/summer. It wasn't a waste though .... I got alot of idea's on what I wanted to see and how to make that happen the next time around
