I said I wouldn't do this but I think I'm starting.I tried to set my first bow up with what I thought would be the best things to start with.I am thinking of a new sight that gets more light, but for now arrow rest! I think I am shooting very good for a beginner. I shot yesterday with a very good 3-D shooter who said I was ready for 3-D. I shoot with a whisker biscuit now and the thing I wounder is how much speed and accuracy an I loosing? Also with the Mathews Mustang 5 1/2 in brace I cant shoot 4" feathers! If I shoot well with a biscuit would I shoot better with a fall-away? 26' arrow@45-50#

I have a bow set on about 48lbs with a Protuner blade rest on it. I will shoot latter on today with the protuner and then change to a WB. I'll chono both and post results.
You may shoot better with a drop away. If you think you will then you probably will. Confidence is an incredible thing.
A WB will shoot just as accurately as any other rest. It is just a little more critical of follow through. I generally shoot 300's with a low 50 X count with my Iron Mace, hunting arrows and sight through a WB. I pick up 3 or 4 X's using a Protuner and a long stabilizer.
For hunting I will be using a WB.

I saw a drastic difference in speed with the biscuit but to be honest....I would concentrate on accuracy before speed. You seem to be doing well with it so thats not an issue. However.... If I couldn't shoot feathers...I wouldn't shoot at all. I went back to plastic for one week and that was enough to convince me that my decision to go to feathers 20 years ago was the right choice Keep in mind that if you use a four fletch pattern you don't need 4" anything. If you are shooting blazers you can shoot 4 X 1.5 vanes. If you shoot feathers you can shoot 4 3" feathers.

BT, I saw where you had that big difference and was puzzled. The most I've ever seen was 5 fps difference and that was with 4 fletch 5" with a ton of helical. I guess sometimes weird things happen. oldfarmsblueman, when it comes to archery gear, if you think you need it, go ahead and get it. You can never have to much stuff. And besides, you can try both and give us a report.
