Right now before I change out the string on the bow I am at 324 grains on a 26.5 inch arrow, 227.4 Ft. per second which gives me a 37.21 Kinetic energy number. What head should I be useing. I have some 100 grain 4 blade stingers, 100 grain 4 blade phantoms and two 85 grain Wasp bullets. I have been watching these NAP Nightmare and am wondering if you think I am good to go or should I look at a new head like the NAP? To tell you the truth I am thinking of taking the bleaders off the Stingers and the phantoms and use them that way. mechanicals are out as I see it.

I would go with the 85gr. single blade stinger If there is anything at all wrong with the 100gr stingers you have now, send them back and ask for 85gr. replacements Now....with that said... You are going to have very little in terms of blood trails from these heads but on the upside,if you can track....you'll find a dead deer close by if you hit them where you should

I would stay with a two blade, cut on impact broadhead. Loose the bleeder blades and make sure that those main edges are very sharp! Pick the one that flies best out of your rig... You put the arrow where it is supposed to be and you won't have to track very far at all! The idea of going to the 85 grain Stingers is not bad at all. It will cost a little FOC to do so, make sure your arrow flight with the lighter tip does not suffer when the wind blows!

I was leaning that way because of what I saw when I was with BT last year but I wanted to confirm that I was on the right track.
Am I correct in thinking the 100 grain 4 blades with the bleader blades removed will end up very close to 85 grain? I am going to have to get out Hopesmans grain scale.

It's maybe 7 grains but dont remove the bleeders If you want the bleeders out , use a dremel and cut them against the ferrule. The Stinger depends on that bleeder to effect a certain guage under the plate which the main blade entraps. I prefer the 85gr. because it has the best flight and the least mass while retaining a very good ratio of width to length. The 100gr. is fine but modify the bleeders rather than removing them

I am realy not trying to be a pain here but I have another question.
I just looked at the magnus site and they do not have a 85 grain 2 blade head. They only have the 85 grain 4 blade. Would this still be OK or again would it be better to do as you suggested BT and dremel cut the bleaders off to get them close to the 85 grain or just buy a 100 grain 2 blade?
Thanks for all the help guys I appreciate it. Then again am I thinking to deep and just use the 100 grain 4 blade and make good shots.

I love those 85gr Stinger 4 blades SL... I took that hog at the Wilderness with them. I had two complete passthroughs on a 500 lb. animal. I think the Mach X was only shooting 265 fps..... And, they are probably the most accurate head I have shot to date... Although, I have never shot the two blade, I'm sure they are the same quality as the 4 blade version, I just looked at your speed again, and that is probably the way to go...

The buzzcut are not leagle up here as you can not use a serated (spelling) blade. Not sure why but you are not allowed. Thanks folks I appreciate all the help.

They may have dropped the 85gr. single blade because I just went over the web and couldn't find one place that sells them. Huh?! .... ain't that a complain!
I would still suggest the 85gr. over the 100gr bleeders or not. I personally wouldn't be concerned as much with the 85gr. with the bleeders. The 100 is a bigger head in physical size and therefore I would be quick to switch to the single blade in that case.
