i shoot the ripcord and love it. I just put it on a few months ago but have put tons of arrows through it. It dosen't have any mole skin on it, I'll put some on before season to quiet it down a little while drawing.

Dad uses a ripcord. He is shooting his best ever and that is saying something. He put just a little fuzz in the fork and it is completely quiet. He did have to experiment with stuff on the riser of his AR34, he put a little rubberized pad of something on there and it works great.

I used a Trophy Hunter for a while... Probably shot the best groups of my life with it. No more.
Why not? I hunt elk, some times a long ways back in. I feared for catching the chord on brush and loosing my rest as a result. With a lot of drop aways, if you take off the chord you can't shoot the rest. If the rest is a split fork drop away, you might be able to wire the rest upright and still use it to some effect even without that chord - but if the rest is solid where the fletching has to pass if that rest does not get out of the way - you are done. Also, I got up one morning, crawled out of the tent, and found my bow froozen to the tree it'd been hung in. We'd had a huge storm go through, about 8 inches of snow at our elevation. It took a lot to break that rest free again... Of course, it took a lot to break the wheels free and so forth as well! Anyway, I decided to go with a more traditional - 2 fork non-drop away type of rest. But if you want to shoot great groups and have wonderful flight, go for it! I would pick out a couple you like, have the shop mount them on your bow (one after the other) and take the one you like the best. Not all drop-aways seem the same to me. It is also of worth to see how much trouble the shop has getting them mounted up correctly (In case you have to do it some day). Take some talc to put on the rest to confirm shot clearance - this is better than a paper tune! There are some great products out there, take your time. I may go back to the Trophy... I take my longbow as well now! I hunt with what ever bow makes the most sense for where I am hunting on a given day. Have fun and good luck!

Great info SMJ. I agree wholeheartedly. Just like a bow, a person needs to try what he can to make his own personal decision.

I don't care for cords and such and gravity drop aways are to slow for my comfort but skipmaster shoots the bajesus out of the thing so it cant be all that bad

I have been wanting a ripcord and or a Qad for quite some time but it is a 50 50 shot with these rest some that have them say they love them others hate them. I have been following all of the reviews on these rest for over a year now and it seems that they both have a problem with the cords pulling out or they will not fall properly. Now yall no as well as i do that if properly put on and adjusted they should work wright. I have had a friend of mine shoot the ripcord for a year and he loved it up untile last weekend while at a turny the cord pulled out on the 17 target and he could not finish the turny. I just put a cobra diamond back on my bowtech and like it so far ya may check it out
