I had a thought today (which can be a dangerous thing ). My max distance while hunting is 25 yds. Why do I need a multi-pin sight? Those "other' pins obstruct the view of the target. Why not a single pin sight that could be adjusted to different yardages? If I'm shooting beyond 25yds, it's because I'm practicing, not hunting. Any problems with the single pin sights that I'm not aware of?

I have never used a single pin sight, so I won't be of any help But I am positive that someone that has will jump in

I used a 1 pin site for years. I was shooting in the 260's and had it set at 25yds. hold a bit low up close and a bit high farther away. I never used the slider part. I became good enough to shoot deer at 40 and 50yds without thinking about it. I just knew the hold over in my head
For you 1 pin at 20yds should be perfect

Agreed.....no sense in having multiple pins. If you know your elevational drop then you dont need x-tra pins to shoot any distance....just like skipmaster did and can still do

I went from multiple pins to a single pin on a slider about 3 years ago. I really saw an improvement in my shooting, especially when hunting. I do as Skip suggested and set the pin at 25yds and pretty much can hold dead on from 0-30yds. The nice thing about the slider adjustment is that during the off season I can shoot 3D and still use just the single pin. The sight I am using is a Impact Archery sight and it projects the brightest pin I have ever seen. Here is a link to the Impact site: www.impactarchery.com/cosmicxl.html

I too have gone from multi pin to single pin on my sights..... my suggestion is to get one impact makes very bright ones at affordable prices its a great seller at the shop around $60.. I use hha, trophy ridge, or my summit hot dot which work well for me!! But what ever you choose set it for 25 yards if your shooting one of the newer bows out now for slower bows set it for 20 yards... its all good!!
