This isn't something I set out to prove but rather something that I just found out I have had a biscuit on one of my bows since day one and the bow was dogging it compared to the factory suggested performance specifications ..... I didn't know (or care) why because this was a test bow for me. ( Needed an average rig for testing ) Here is the biscuit performance as seen below. This is the performance with a Quad drop away as seen below. Today I spent some time shooting the quad and here is my opinion....not a fact....maybe it is , I am not making claims as statement of fact on my part But....I do find it very interesting and rather easy to prove out What I found was that the biscuit allowed more room for hand placement error but not alot by comparison to the quad. My belief would be (for now) that the compression of the arrow's fletch ( when passing through the biscuit ) is what is gaining that slight edge. At least this would be something to consider which would make sense. Now....is that beneficial enough to put back on the biscuit? IMO....no. The reason being that my shot error was far greater at longer distances with the biscuit and distance is the most often situation which a hunter is faced with. With the shoot through rest , my 35 yard pin became my 40 and my 25 became my 30. This is far more important IMO. Just an FYI to those out there such as myself who were not actually aware of the performance differences

That is crazy! With the marco vanes I used to shoot, the bisquit and QAD were about 4FPS different. Maybe the difference is magnified as the energy of the bow decreases?

I had a 1fps difference between the feathers and 1.5" blazers. That didn't matter....it was the fact that all of it had to be pulled through those bristles....seemingly. Hey! ..... what do you think of that little bow now?!

BT, I noticed the same difference, I only shoot feathers now, heck might even go back to my stalkmaster.. remember those?..... every deer I've shot with a compound(36) has been with a stalkmaster...I'll do some testing this spring, I still have one, but I am looking for another!

This doesn't surprise me at all. It confirms what I thought was going on with a WB. Thanks for the research BT.

Hey Bt, what's the specs on the bow.. and arrow weight? One of the worst spec. listings I have ever seen as it relates to everyone being on the same page Hoyt says 290 while Hoyt dealers say 270 - 290 I really have no idea anymore because even a factory rep told me 280 Anyway.... 270 - 290 @ 60# & 28" @ IBO of GOP. Thats where the bow is now....28"/60# @ 5gpp

BT, I shoot a WB on all my rigs. I have never had more than a 3 FPS difference between the WB and any other rest and that was with 4 fletch with strong helical.

BT, I hear you on the spec. listings, gotta bow now, a proto/conversion, they say their design is getting 280-90 Ibo@28, mine at 80@30 is shooting a 500gr.arrow 308fps. with a WB....wonder if that extra 2" of draw makes that much difference?
