I put one on my new bow because I have a hard time seeing the pins in poor light.I never new they had such a thing!I was showing my friend the bow in a dark room off his barn.He cracked up when I lit up like a blue Christmas tree. Is that normal?-Should I get one that is adjustable and isn't just on or off?Or should I install it in the lower hole so the light go's up? I can't believe a deer isn't going to see me and start Laughing ;D

The only place you need the light is on the fiber optics. If you have standard pins, then you need the light on the sight pin tips of course. It is nice to have some light on the halo around the pins, too, so that you can see it with ease through a peep sight. However, if you have to much light on it, you could find that it reflects back in your eye to the point you can't see much beyond it - in really dark situations. It can be more blinding than helpful. Mine just shines on the sides of the fiber optics, with a very small spill on to the halo - all from the side not pointing at me or at the target.
Make sure it is legal to have on your bow when hunting in your area! Here in Colorado, the last I checked it was not legal - but I find it really helps with indoor lighting at the range.

May also look into a bigger peep, or take a drill bit and spin it between your fingers and drill yours out. That is what I had to do, not that my pins weren't bright enough but my eye couldn't get enough light thru the hole to see the pins at dusk.

Legal is the key. If it isn't legal , you can use a tritium pin which is bigger and generates it's own light. Perfectly legal since it is not an artificial light and it does work plenty well....just large

He could do like 2chucks and paint his sight housing with glow in the dark paint.
