Just got a new sight! It's a Cobra sidewinder XL. So far the only thing I don't like is the way the fiber colors are set up.They have top green -red- yellow red and green.I would like to have the yellow and 2 green on top(because I can see them better) and the 2 red on the bottom. Has any one tried to move this type of pin? There is a lot going on in this sight with the 5 different fiber windings.I think the end that go's through the pin is melted so you cant just interchange fibers!

I wouldn't go messing around with it just yet. Yes, you can re- melt the fibers if you have to, but if you've never done it before, you can screw it up. I would wait until one breaks before experimenting. I've replaced fibers in pins using a long soldering iron. You never touch the fiber with the rod. You just use the heat ( rod below fiber) to mushroom the end. Push the fiber through the pin at least a few inches so that you are working outside of the sight ring before applying the heat. There's also the bend in the fiber to get it down the backside of the pin that you have to consider also. I hear what you are saying about the colors though. I prefer green, and yellow to red, but everyone is different... Looking at it now, I would say you have to use it as is, or have the factory custom arrange the fiber sequence...is this the one?

You can move them without screwing around with the fiber ends. you can take off the top of the "tube" that holds the coils of fiber. Take out the clear plastic sleeve that going inside the coils. unscrew the pin from the sight housing and slowly pull the coil of fiber through the slot. put the pins in the order you want and slide the fiber back into the slot and get the coils in place. put the sleeve back in and screw the top back in, making sure the sleeve in set into the groove in the center of the top.

Someting to think about is the fact that you can't see the red ones as good. Just that fact alone would make me hesitate moving them to the bottom. I have the same issue as you seeing the red pins. This is mainly because I am color blind.
On a goo dnote I have used the sidewinder sight and like it very much. I really like the XL becuase the side bar is so long.
As Greg mentioned those pins are replacable so you should in theory be able to remove them and place them in any order you like. If something does happen to the pins you can call Cobra and the will more than likely replace the broken part. Cobra in the past has provided me great customer service.

Did something just happen to Cobra? I heard that they had a fire or something, and can't ship any new merchandise...
